Unpack your new der8auer Delid Die Mate 2 (DDM2).
Take DDM2, IHS repositioning tool and hex key out of the box.
Remove the regluing tool from the DDM2.
Disassemble the DDM2 by taking out screw and slider.
Insert the CPU. Make sure that the triangles of DDM2 and CPU align.
Add slider and screw.
Use the hex key to tighten the screw.
keep turning until you can feel that the IHS (Heatspreader) is moving. In some cases you need to apply a lot of force to move the IHS. Make sure you inspect the current progress and don’t overtighten.
Remove IHS and CPU.
Clean CPU and IHS and apply new thermal paste. I prefer to use liquid metal compounds such as Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut. Apply new glue. I usually use UHU high temperature silicone glue (thermal paste and glue are available at caseking.de)
Put the CPU back in the DDM2. Again make sure that the triangles align.
Place the IHS repositioning tool on top to make sure that the IHS sits in the perfekt position.
Make sure that the screw of the regluing tool is sitting right at the top.
Slide the regluing tool over the DDM2 while keeping the repositioning tool in the DDM2.
Keep turning the screw until you feel resistance.
Once you can feel resistance, only tighten by another 90° rotation. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Too much pressure can damage the CPU permanently
Lift up the repositioning tool and place it on top. Wait about 30-60 minutes until the glue is dry.
Remove the IHS repositioning tool, take out the CPU and have fun with lower temperatures
