About DOTATECH

1. What exactly does DOTATECH do?

DOTATECH TECHNOLOGY PLT is a custom gaming PC
builder and hardware retailer based in Setia Alam, Shah Alam. We have been in
PC hardware for close to two decades, and every system we sell is customized,
assembled, tested and supported in-house rather than shipped in as a sealed
box. You can buy from us here, on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop, or walk into
our showroom.

2. Where is your shop and can I walk in?

We are at No 45, Jalan Eco Ardence C U12/36C,
Ardence Crest, Eco Ardence Seksyen U12, Setia Alam, 40170 Shah Alam, Selangor.
Walk-ins are welcome. You can see builds in person, talk through a spec with a
technician, and collect completed systems here. Business hours are 11:00AM-8PM
(Monday-Friday), 11:00AM-6PM (Saturday) & Closed on Sunday & Public
Holidays. Call 03-6128 5305 ahead if you need a specific part reserved.

3. Are you an authorized reseller for the brands you carry?

Yes. We source through official Malaysia
distributors and principals, which is what makes local warranty claims possible
in the first place. Grey-market stock often cannot be claimed in Malaysia at
all. Brands we carry regularly include ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Corsair,
Thermaltake, Zotac, Kingston, Lexar, UGREEN & Ects.

4. What is DOTATECH's role in the Thermaltake Sim Racing League?

DOTATECH is a Key Partner in the Thermaltake Sim Racing League Malaysia program and sponsors competing talent in the series. In practice it means we build and tune rigs for people who actually race on them, and we understand what the hardware has to do: consistent frame pacing, triple-screen or ultra-wide output, direct-drive wheel bases, and a rig that holds its geometry under load.

Custom PC Builds

1. How does the custom PC build process work?

Four stages. You tell us your budget, the games or
software you run, and your target resolution and refresh rate. We come back
with a full parts list and the reasoning behind each choice. Once you confirm
and place a deposit, we allocate stock and assemble. Then we stress-test and
benchmark the system before handing it over with the OS and drivers ready to
go.

2. I don't know what parts I need. Can you spec it for me?

That is the normal case, and the consultation is
free. Tell us what you play. Competitive shooters at 1080p high refresh need a
very different balance to 4K single-player or Blender rendering. Add your
monitor and your budget ceiling, and we will build the list around the
component that actually limits your workload instead of pushing everything into
the GPU.

3. What is a realistic budget for a good gaming PC?

Resolution drives it more than anything else. 1080p
high-refresh e-sports is the most affordable entry point, 1440p at high
settings is the sweet spot for most buyers, and 4K pushes cost up sharply
because the GPU has to scale with it. Tell us your number and we will tell you
honestly what it gets you, including when waiting a month is the better move.

4. What is the difference between your ready-made lines and a full custom build?

Our signature lines such as
WOOD-AG 9X3D, WOOD-FD 9X3D, L-GAMING A7X3D, DC-i5 and the Frieren Series are
configurations we have already balanced and validated, so they are quicker to
deliver and priced sharply with great discounts plus subsidized parts by brand
principals. A full custom build starts from a blank sheet: your chassis, color
scheme, cooling and storage layout. Both get the same assembly, testing and
support.

5. How long does a custom build take?

2-5 working days for a standard build, counted from
confirmed deposit and confirmed parts availability. Builds that need
special-order chassis, custom sleeved cabling or custom water-cooling take
longer, and we will give you a date before you commit. We would rather quote an
honest timeline than rush the cable management and testing stage.

6. DoI need to pay a deposit?

Yes, for custom builds. It
lets us allocate and reserve your parts in a market where GPU and memory stock
moves quickly and pricing follows it @ 30% minimum for order confirmation.
Ready-stock prebuilt systems and over-the-counter component purchases do not
need one. T&C Apply

7. Can I change the spec after the build has started?

Usually yes, if we have not
opened the parts or started assembly. Tell us as early as you can. Once components
are unsealed and installed, changes may run into restocking limits on our side
and the answer will be a NO. Speak to us first and we will tell you exactly
what is still possible.

8. Can I supply my own parts for you to assemble?

Usually yes, subject to service fee & T&C
apply. Either way, one thing is worth knowing: parts you supply carry warranty
from wherever you bought them, so a fault in a customer-supplied component is
claimed through that seller and not through us. Our coverage applies to our workmanship
and the parts we supply.

Performance, Testing and Quality

1. What does over-clocking actually mean on a DOTATECH build?

It means tuning the system beyond stock where the
hardware genuinely supports it: memory EXPO or XMP profiles, CPU boost behavior,
fan and pump curves, then validating it for stability rather than chasing a
headline number. On a locked CPU or in a thermally limited chassis there is
little real gain to be had, and we will tell you that instead of selling it.

2. What do you test before handing over a PC?

Processor, memory, graphics, storage and power
supply, each under load. Sustained CPU and GPU stress runs to check thermals
and throttling behavior, memory stability testing, drive health and speed
verification, and confirmation that the PSU holds up under full-system
transient load. We are looking for factory-faulty parts and the kind of
instability that only appears once everything is hot.

3. Why does cable management and airflow matter if the PC works anyway?

Because it decides how the machine performs in
month twelve, not on day one. Blocked airflow raises component temperatures,
sustained heat pulls CPU and GPU boost clocks down, and hot VRMs and NVMe
drives age faster. Clean routing keeps intake and exhaust paths open, and makes
future upgrades and dust cleaning far less painful.

4. Will you tell me if my build has a bottleneck?

Yes, before you pay. If the CPU you have picked
will hold the GPU back at your resolution, or a 4K-class graphics card is going
into a system feeding a 1080p 60Hz monitor, we will flag it and suggest where
to move the money. A balanced build at RM8,000 will outperform an unbalanced one
at RM10,000 in real games.

5. Do I get any proof of the testing?

Yes, upon request. At minimum we walk you through
the system at collection or on first boot: load temperatures, clock behavior,
drive health and the BIOS settings we applied. The point is that you know what
normal looks like on your machine, so you can tell when something changes.

Ordering, Payment and Pricing

1. How do I place an order?

Whichever channel suits you. Order at
dotatech.com.my, buy through our Shopee, Lazada or TikTok Shop stores, message
us on Facebook or Instagram, or walk into the Setia Alam showroom. For a custom
build, start with a conversation instead. Call 03-6128 5305,
WhatsApp(+60138715305 / +60193785305) or email dotatech.sales@gmail.com so the
spec is right before any money changes hands.

2. Are your website prices the same as Shopee and Lazada?

Not always. Marketplace
pricing carries platform commission and campaign mechanics that our own store
does not, so vouchers, sale days and shipping subsidies can push either side
lower depending on the week. If you are comparing, just ask us and we will tell
you which channel is genuinely cheaper for that item today.

3. Why do PC prices keep changing?

Because component cost moves constantly. CPU, GPU,
DRAM and NAND pricing swings with global supply and demand, and the ringgit to
US dollar rate feeds straight into landed cost. A quote holds for usually/only
1-2 working days *after which we re-price, up or down. When a category is
spiking we will say so, and tell you if waiting is the smarter play.

4. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major payment available example FPX
online banking, debit and credit cards, DuitNow QR, bank transfer, credit card
installment, SPLater, ShopeePay Ects. For larger builds the usual arrangement
is deposit first, with the balance settled before delivery or collection.

5. Do you offer instalment plans?

Yes we do offer major installment and
buy-now-pay-later option, including any 0% credit card installment plans and
the minimum spend that applies. If installments matter to your budget, raise it
at the start of the conversation. It can affect which channel you should order
through.

6. Can I get a tax invoice or e-Invoice for a company purchase?

Yes. Give us your name or company name, business
registration number, registered address and TIN at the point of purchase rather
than afterwards. Issuing to the correct entity from the start avoids reissue
problems later. e-Invoice request process and submission deadline, and the policy
on reissuing invoices T&C apply. We also handle corporate, cybercafe and
education quotations on request.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Delivery, Collection and Setup

1. Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, to both West and East Malaysia. We use major
logistic providers such as GDex, Lalamove, Grab delivery Ects. Full systems and
fragile items are handled differently from small accessories, so shipping on a
complete build is quoted per order rather than charged as a flat rate.

2. How do you pack a full PC for shipping?

On the assumption that it will be handled badly.
Heavy air coolers and graphics cards are supported or removed and packed
separately where needed, internal bracing goes in to stop components flexing in
transit, and the system is double-boxed. At handover we tell you exactly what
needs re-seating before first boot if anything was removed.

3. Can I collect from your showroom instead?

Yes, and for a complete system we recommend it.
Self-collection at Setia Alam means zero transit risk, and we can power the
machine up with you, walk you through the BIOS settings we applied, and answer
setup questions face to face. We will message you the moment your build clears
testing.

4. Does the PC come with Windows and drivers installed?

Every PC is preinstalled with Win11 Home
un-activated version for testing environment. We also offer full genuine
licenses example Win11 Home, Pro version & Ects. Please inform our
sales-person your software requirements upon purchase. What we do as standard
is install the operating system, chipset and graphics drivers, apply the BIOS
and memory profile settings the build was validated with, and hand the machine
over ready to use rather than ready to troubleshoot.

5. Will you help me set it up at home/office?

We will always talk you through it: first boot,
plugging the monitor into the graphics card rather than the motherboard,
setting the display to its full refresh rate and resolution, and running
Windows updates. On-site setup is available upon request subject to technician availability*
within Klang Valley (KL & Selangor area). For other location, please
contact us for more details. For most customers a WhatsApp or phone walkthrough
sorts it out in minutes.

Warranty, Support and RMA

1. What warranty comes with a DOTATECH-built PC?

There are two layers. Individual components carry
their principal or distributor warranty in Malaysia, which differs by category
& warranty duration, and DOTATECH covers the build itself, include
maintenance & QC. We administer component claims on your behalf, so you are
not chasing four different brands separately.

2. What does limited lifetime warranty & support actually include?

Technical help for as long
as you own the system: diagnosing faults, BIOS and driver questions, advice
before you upgrade, and guidance when something behaves oddly after a Windows
update. It is support, not free parts. Hardware replacement outside the
warranty period is chargeable, and we quote before doing anything. For limited
lifetime warranty example by RAM manufacturer, the brand or factory will honor
the warranty period for the said product as long they still manufacture the
product model or lineup example DDR4 rams

3. How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact us first with your
invoice number, a description of the fault, and a photo or video of the symptom
if you can capture one. We will try to diagnose remotely, because a fair number
of dead PCs turn out to be a re-seated cable ects. If a claim is needed we will
advise whether to bring the unit in or ship it.

4. How long does an RMA take?

It depends on the brand rather than on us. Some
principals swap units locally within days, others route them to a regional
service centre. Typical RMA turnaround range around few weeks to couple of
months. Once we know which component is involved we will give you a realistic
window, and we chase the distributor so that you do not have to.

5. Do I need to keep the original box and receipt?

Keep the invoice or receipt, because that is the
proof of purchase most claims require. Boxes matter for some brands,
particularly graphics cards and power supplies, where packaging and bundled
accessories may be requested as part of a claim. If storage space is tight at
home, at least keep the boxes for the expensive parts.

6. What voids my warranty?

Physical damage, burn marks, melted ports, liquid
damage, power surge or lightning damage, pest damage, un-authorized repair
attempts, and removed or tampered warranty seals on components. Opening the
case to add memory or a drive does not void your DOTATECH build coverage. If
you are unsure before doing something, ask us first.

7. My PC is out of warranty. Can you still help?

Yes. We diagnose and repair out-of-warranty systems
on a chargeable basis, including machines we did not build. Diagnostic fee start
from RM80 *and whether it is waived if you proceed with the repair. Sometimes
the honest answer is that a targeted upgrade beats a repair, and we will tell
you which situation you are actually in. Feel free to visit our store or
contact us for more informations

Upgrades, Repairs and Trade-In

1. Can I upgrade my DOTATECH PC later?

That is part of why we spec power supply headroom
and case clearance the way we do. Graphics, memory, storage and cooling
upgrades are usually straightforward, and we handle the swap and retest the
system afterwards. Ask us before you buy the part, because the upgrade worth
doing depends on which component is actually limiting you.

2. I bought my PC elsewhere. Will you service it?

Yes @ service charge and T&C apply. Where we
do, the process is the same as for our own builds: diagnose first, quote before
any work starts, test afterwards. Parts we supply during the repair carry their
normal warranty, and the rest of the machine keeps whatever coverage it already
had.

3. Do you clean and repaste older PCs?

It’s recommended for annual service & it is
worth doing. Dust-clogged radiators and heatsink are the most common reason a
system that used to run fine starts thermally throttling, and thermal compound
dries out over a few years. The temperature drop after a proper clean and
repaste is often substantial.

4. What happens to my data when I send my PC in?

Back it up before it comes to us, every time. We do
not need access to personal files to diagnose most faults, but drive
replacement, operating system reinstallation and certain repairs can result in
data loss, and no repair process can guarantee data preservation. If the data
is critical, tell us before we start work.

5. Do you take trade-ins on old parts or systems?

Currently we only accept GPU trade in via In-Store
credit. If you are upgrading, ask before you sell privately. Carrying the value
straight into a new build is usually simpler than dealing with buyers, and we
can tell you whether the old part is worth keeping as a second system instead.

Peripherals, Sim Racing and Workshops

1. What peripherals and accessories do you carry?

Keyboards, mice, headsets,
monitors, gaming chairs, capture cards, cables, hubs, chargers and storage.
Brands we stock regularly include ASUS ROG, MSI Gaming, MCHOSE, Corsair,
Thermaltake, Keychron, TTracing, Elgato, noblechairs, HyperX, Pulsar, voicsky,
IPI, MELGEEK, Tecware, Zowie and ects. Stock rotates, so check the current
listing on our store or message us if you are after something specific.

2. Do you build SIM racing rigs?

Yes. As a Key Partner in
the Thermaltake Sim Racing League Malaysia program, we build and tune complete
setups: cockpit and rig hardware, wheel base and pedal mounting, and the PC
behind it spec-ed for consistent frame pacing across triple screens or an ultra-wide.
Come to the showroom if you want the rig sized properly to you. Other brand
include Moza Racing, Logitech, NLR, Thrustmaster, PXN & Ects

3. Do you run PC building workshops?

We run community sessions,
including our How to Build Your Desktop series, where you learn the assembly
process hands-on instead of watching a video. Places are limited and booked in
advance via https://linktr.ee/dotatech.sales. Follow @dotatechtechnology on Instagram or our Facebook page for
announcements.

4. Do you work with creators, teams or streamers?

Yes. We have worked with KOLs, SIM racing talent
and community events, and we build streaming and content-creation systems where
encoding load, capture and multi-monitor output matter as much as gaming frame
rate. If you are proposing a collaboration, email lingloong@dotatech.com.my
with what you do and who your audience is.
